I chose to become a nurse practitioner because I wanted to connect with patients differently. I came from a critical care background where many of my patients were sedated, so I had to develop relationships with their families. As a nurse practitioner, I have the opportunity to educate and connect with my patients and their families and strive for great outcomes. I want to treat the whole patient. I want to truly listen and together develop a plan of care that will improve the patient's condition, if we are able, as well as have good outcomes. Outside of work, I help my husband on our farm and spend time with our three children. We enjoy going to the beach, riding on the boat and spending time with our families.
